Deliberate. Structured. Steady.

I work with individuals and families facing important legal decisions that require clarity and careful thought. My Maryland practice focuses on estate planning and family law, where preparation, sound judgment, and disciplined execution all matter.

I approach each matter with careful organization and direct communication. Legal issues often arise during periods of transition or uncertainty. My role is to provide structure, clear options, and steady guidance so clients can move forward with confidence.

Education and Admission

My legal career spans state and federal systems. I have served with the U.S. Department of Justice, the Office of the Federal Public Defender, and the Nevada Attorney General’s Office, where I worked in consumer protection and civil matters. Earlier in my career, I also had private-practice experience in insurance defense, commercial litigation, and family law.

I continue to provide pro bono representation through legal aid organizations and independently, supporting clients in estate planning, family law, consumer protection, employment, and related matters. That work keeps me grounded in the real pressures people face when legal issues intersect with stress, uncertainty, and everyday life.

Today, my Maryland practice focuses on estate planning and family law, serving clients who value thoughtful guidance, clear communication, and well-structured outcomes.

Legal Background

Conflict, Law, and Systems Under Stress

For more than two decades, I have also worked internationally at the intersection of law and conflict, including in areas of international criminal law, humanitarian law, and rule-of-law reform in conflict-affected settings. My work has included leadership, advisory, and training roles supporting justice reform, institutional development, legal aid systems, and post-conflict legal institutions.

In those environments, negotiation and decision-making carried significant consequences. The work required careful listening, disciplined communication, and steady leadership under pressure. I observed how conflict escalates, how institutions function under strain, and how stress can shape judgment and behavior.

I have also trained in conflict resolution and the neurobiology of stress and trauma. That perspective informs my estate planning and family law practice today. I structure my work to reduce uncertainty, clarify choices, and create stability during periods that can otherwise feel overwhelming.

How I Work

Across all matters, I bring the same commitments:

  • Clear, direct guidance

  • Strong preparation and follow-through

  • Respect for the human and relational dimensions of conflict

  • A steady focus on practical, workable outcomes

My goal is not simply to resolve a matter, but to help clients move forward with structure, stability, and confidence.
