A good estate plan puts your wishes on paper to create clarity for the people you care about and the decisions that will need to be made. A well-structured plan is legally sound and practically workable, reducing uncertainty for your family and the people you have chosen to act on your behalf.
Estate planning is not one-size-fits-all, and it is rarely just a legal exercise. It touches on family, relationships, values, and what you want to have in place when it matters most. For many people, the motivation is simple: they want to make things easier and clearer for the people they leave behind.
My approach is to start by listening. I take time to understand you, your family, and the bigger picture before we talk about documents. I want to know what matters to you and why, because that is what a good estate plan actually reflects. Part of that early conversation is making sure we identify the right tools for your situation — and sometimes the simplest solution is the most effective one.
From there, I walk you through the process. Because seeing your wishes on paper for the first time can surface things you had not considered, I treat the drafting as a conversation rather than a transaction. We go back and forth until it feels right. I would rather take the time to get it right than hand you documents that do not fully reflect what you intended.
My practice focuses on wills, advance directives, powers of attorney, guardian designations, beneficiary coordination, and related estate planning documents. If your situation calls for something outside this scope, I will tell you and help you find the right resource.
Fees and Consultation
Estate planning services are generally offered on a flat-fee basis. The appropriate plan and final fee depend on your goals, family situation, assets, and the scope of work involved.
Some matters may be quoted after review of your intake information. Where individualized recommendations are needed, the process begins with an estate planning consultation.
The consultation provides an opportunity to discuss your circumstances, clarify your goals, and review appropriate planning options. The consultation fee is $350. If you choose to proceed with estate planning services, that fee will be credited toward your total fee.
